Meet Harmony Tomes (Sample only.)
Harmony Tomes fell in love with books at the age of seven during a thunderstorm.
Stranded at the local library while waiting for the rain to pass, young Harmony discovered a worn copy of The Secret Garden and was forever changed. That childhood moment sparked a lifelong passion for connecting people with stories that transform lives.
For the past fifteen years, Harmony has served as head librarian at Riverside Public Library, where every patron is greeted by name and every question is valued. Harmony has helped transform Riverside into a community hub, launching a teen coding club, a monthly book-to-film discussion series, and "Storytime in the Stacks" for families.
Harmony's favorite part of being a librarian? Matching readers with their next favorite book. Regulars joke that Harmony is "part librarian, part mind reader." Whether helping a struggling student find confidence through graphic novels or introducing a grieving widow to poetry that brings comfort, Harmony understands that the right book at the right moment can change everything.
"Books saved me during that thunderstorm," Harmony often says. "Now I get to welcome others into a place of warmth, excitement, and shelter."
